Marketing for GPs and medical centres.

Patients look for a GP who’s nearby, taking new patients and easy to book. Your listing, your site and your ads should answer that quickly, within AHPRA’s advertising guidelines.

The rules

The AHPRA rules, built in.

GPs are registered health practitioners, so their advertising follows AHPRA’s guidelines: no testimonials, nothing misleading and no promises about outcomes. We write everything with that in mind.

No testimonials

Patient stories and star quotes stay out of your ads and posts.

Nothing misleading

Clear, accurate information about your services, hours and fees.

No outcome promises

Content says what you offer and leaves out what it will achieve.

This describes how we work. It isn’t legal or regulatory advice.

Questions

Questions practices ask us.

Can a medical centre run Facebook ads?

Yes, within AHPRA’s advertising guidelines. Ads can promote your services, hours, location and new-patient availability. They can’t use testimonials or promise outcomes, and they mustn’t mislead.

Can you set up online booking?

Yes. A booking link goes on your site, your ads and your Google listing. The Campbelltown Medical Centre site we built takes bookings online through HotDoc.

Do you use patient reviews in ads?

No. Testimonials about clinical care can’t be used to advertise a registered health service. Reviews people leave on Google stay on Google.

How does the first month work?

Month one is setup: the ad account and tracking, your profiles, post templates and the first month of content. From month two it settles into the regular monthly routine.
